Unique Ways to Celebrate Your Dad on Father’s Day

The third Sunday of June has long been the day to celebrate the father figures in families. Whether your kids want to create a handmade card or start an annual event, the best gift is to simply honor dad.

Cook dad’s favorite meal.

A great gift dad is sure to love is a plate filled with his favorite food (or favorite meal). This is something that can use all hands on deck, even down to the tiniest member. Don’t forget to set the table and decorate it will some of dad’s favorite things, colors, sports items, and so on.

Have a movie night.

What’s dad’s favorite family-friendly movie? Pop it on the TV along with all the theater favorites like popcorn, drinks, and candy. You can even decorate the popcorn boxes with “best dad ever” and have dad-inspired candy like ring pops. Movie time can be even more special by showing a slideshow of family pictures taken over time.

Put together a scavenger hunt.

And this won’t be just any scavenger hunt. Make it all about dad and things he likes. Put together a list, hide whatever you pull together, and go at it.

Throw a Father’s Day party.

This is something you can do just for your family or invite friends and family over and celebrate all the dads. Since Father’s day is in the warmer months, you can fire up the grill and play a few games for a fun-filled time. Don’t forget the photo booth!

Go on a special trip.

If your dad works a lot, nothing says Happy Father’s Day like a special and relaxing one-day trip. Whether you visit the local zoo, take a swim in the lake, or go to the beach, taking a special trip with dad is sure to be meaningful.
